Make a small start of your own

Choose something you enjoy making, and discover whether someone else wants to buy it.

1. Choose one product

Start with one repeatable item, such as personalized gift tags or place cards. Define the buyer, occasion, quantity, and customization choices.

2. Understand the real cost

Include materials, failed pieces, packaging, platform and payment fees, your labor, and an allowance for overhead. Price each batch before committing to an order.

3. Make a sample collection

Create a few real samples. Photograph the actual product in good light, measure it, and describe what is included. Use AI concept images only when clearly identified as concepts.

4. Test a small offer

Show the finished samples to potential buyers. Ask which they would choose and why. Try a small batch or limited number of orders before buying large quantities of supplies.

5. Start a craft blog

Document the making process, including your own photographs, material choices, mistakes, and improvements. Turn one project into a tutorial, a short video, and an email with one useful lesson.

6. Build with AI thoughtfully

Use AI to explore variations, draft descriptions from real product facts, and plan content. Check commercial-use terms for each font, design, tool, and asset before selling work that uses them.
