Photograph a Thanksgiving table with heart
A simple five-photo story: the room, the handmade detail, the preparation, the people and the quiet aftermath.

Make the light softer
Photograph before sunset near a window. Pull a sheer curtain across harsh direct sun or move the table detail away from the brightest patch. Avoid mixing warm ceiling light with cool daylight when you can.
Tell a small story
Begin with a wide room photo before guests arrive. Move to a close-up of a handwritten place card. Capture hands setting the table, then one relaxed group moment with permission. End with a stack of keepsake cards or folded linens.
Watch the edges
Take one extra second to check the corners of the frame: packaging, half a charger or a distracting chair can pull attention away from your handmade detail. Move clutter, not your whole room. Keep drinks and food in safe places while rearranging.
Keep private words private
Frame the outside of gratitude cards rather than the message inside. If photographing people, ask whether they want to be included and whether the image may be shared. A beautiful table story can be told entirely with objects.
Edit lightly
Straighten the horizon, crop the edges and adjust brightness. Keep food and paper colors believable. Save a copy of the original before adding a filter so you can return to the real scene later.
You are collecting a memory, not proving your home belongs in a magazine.
