An Etsy idea: personalized place-card sets
A made-to-order paper product with a clear guest count, proofing process and realistic turnaround.

Choose a manageable product
Offer a set of twelve folded place cards in one original leaf design, two color choices and one lettering style. Decide whether names are handwritten or printed. Too many options make small orders surprisingly difficult to deliver.
Time an actual order
Make and package a sample set, including proof preparation, cutting, folding, checking spelling and messaging time. Record materials, waste and packaging. Work out what you need to earn for the full time involved before choosing a selling price.
Define the proofing process
Ask buyers to submit names in a copyable list. Show a proof, state how many revisions are included and give a clear approval deadline. Promise a turnaround only after considering your workload and shipping time. Do not expose customer names in portfolio images without permission.
Photograph the exact product
Show one completed personalized set, a folded side view, the paper finish and the package. Etsy’s rules require the first image for personalized or custom items to show a finished customized item rather than blank placeholder text. Use invented sample names for your own demonstration set.
Test a small launch
Open only as many order slots as you can comfortably make. Record which questions buyers ask, whether packaging protects the corners and whether the proofing steps are clear. Revisit the offer before buying larger quantities.
Personalization becomes valuable when the process feels easy for the buyer.
