Little paper leaves for every place
Turn cardstock scraps into warm, handwritten napkin rings that double as tiny thank-you notes.

Gather a small stack of supplies
For six place settings, gather two sheets of light cardstock, scissors, a ruler, a pencil, a marker and a glue stick or paper tape. Choose two warm colors so the table feels coordinated without every leaf matching. Use the leaf outline in the Thanksgiving starter pack, or draw your own simple pointed oval.
Make a ring that fits your napkin
Cut six cardstock strips about 1.5 × 7 inches. Wrap one loosely around a folded napkin and mark the overlap before cutting the rest. Remove the napkin, then glue or tape the overlap to form a ring. Hold until secure and let it dry. A thick linen napkin may need a longer strip.
Add one paper leaf
Cut a leaf about 3 inches long, crease it gently down the middle and write a name before attaching it. Glue only the center of the leaf to the ring so the edges lift a little. Keep names large and easy to read. Try one finished ring before making a batch.
Tuck in a small kindness
Write a specific thank-you inside the ring or on a separate note: “Thank you for the school pickup” or “I loved our long kitchen chat.” If a guest prefers a plain place setting, leave theirs unmarked. Let everything dry fully and keep paper and adhesive clear of unwrapped food.
Skip the ring and lay the leaf on the plate for an even quicker version. A hand-cut wobble is part of its charm.
