Paper bows for the prettiest little parcels
Use leftover paper to make a simple loop bow, then repeat it across a small collection of gifts.

Choose paper that bends
Gather medium-weight paper, scissors, a ruler, tape or a glue stick. Very heavy cardstock can crack when curved. Make one bow from scrap paper first to check the proportions and adhesive.
Cut the pieces
For one small bow, cut two strips measuring 1 by 6 inches and one narrow strip measuring 1/2 by 2 inches. Cut a separate 1 by 4-inch strip for the tails if you like. These are starting dimensions; resize the whole set together.
Make two loops
Curve each long strip so its ends meet at the center and overlap slightly. Secure the overlap. Place the two loops side by side with the joins together, then wrap the narrow strip around their centers and attach it at the back.
Add the tails
Trim a small V into each end of the tail strip. Attach it behind the loops, keeping the middle hidden. Let the adhesive dry, then attach the finished bow to the wrapping with a small piece of tape.
Finish with a message
Add a handwritten tag and leave the rest of the wrapping simple. Keep paper bows away from flames and moisture. Do not leave small loose pieces with young children. This starter project has not been physically maker-tested.
Turn an imperfect first bow into the tag sample you keep for next year.
